Solutions for pharma, health, food, beverages & cosmetics

Mumbai-headquartered, Ace Technologies and Packaging Systems is one of India’s leading companies that supply technology and equipment to the pharma and healthcare, food and beverages, cosmetics, and HORECA (hotel, restaurants, and catering) sectors. Founded in 2000, the company has a small manufacturing unit at Vasai, in the outskirts of Mumbai for manufacturing dry syrup filling machines, conveyors, and others. In addition, the company also has offices in Bangalore, Delhi, and Hyderabad.  During our interaction with Sameer Ingole, manager – Pharma Sales Division of Ace Technologies and Packaging Systems, he says that the company has partnered with many international companies to bring the latest technologies to its Indian clients. He adds, “On the pharma side, we have collaborated with many European companies such as Groninger for filling machines, Fedagari for autoclaves, Brevetti for visual inspection machines, Stilmas for complete water solution systems. Recently, we have tied up with the Mediseal, Dividella & Pester Pac Automation for end of line packaging solutions.”

According to Ingole, Ace strongly believes in quality and innovation. To stay updated with the latest technological trends beneficial to the pharmaceutical industry as well as the food and beverage industry, Ace participates in shows and exhibitions in India as well as abroad. “We strive not only to offer advanced technology in pharma machinery, but we also want to demonstrate to our customers that we are the one-stop solution for all their pharmaceutical manufacturing needs.”

The pharma sector is thriving

According to Ingole, the Indian pharma sector has grown by leaps and bounds. He says, “After the US, it is India which has the maximum number of USFDA approved plants. We feel very proud that for the sterile plants, Ace Technologies is among the top choices of manufacturers from where they prefer to acquire high-end machines.” On the other side, he admits that many Korean and Chinese companies pose a challenge in terms of pricing. However, he believes that in terms of quality, the European, American, and Japanese are still way ahead.

“We are confident that ACE can offer customers quality that is comparable with Europe and Japan. We also offer 24×7 customer service support with the help of our service support system at multiple locations,” he continues. Further, while speaking about training and service support, Ingole says, “ACE invests heavily in training its employees. Of our team of more than 70 engineers, most are trained by our principals at their facilities in the USA, Japan, and Europe. With this level of training, we can proudly say that our team can individually handle the challenges they face during the pre and post-installation stage as well as throughout the life-cycle of the machine.” About the vision of the company, he says, “We want to become one of the leading suppliers of sterile machines in India. As of now we are among the top four or five manufacturers, but certainly we want to hold a top position. We are increasing our strength to reach out to every nook of the country. And gradually, we would also like to move out of India to the neighboring countries.”

The Covid-19 pandemic led to the country-wide lockdown on 25 March 2020. It will be two years tomorrow as I write this. What have we learned in this time? Maybe the meaning of resilience since small companies like us have had to rely on our resources and the forbearance of our employees as we have struggled to produce our trade platforms.

The print and packaging industries have been fortunate, although the commercial printing industry is still to recover. We have learned more about the digital transformation that affects commercial printing and packaging. Ultimately digital will help print grow in a country where we are still far behind in our paper and print consumption and where digital is a leapfrog technology that will only increase the demand for print in the foreseeable future.

Web analytics show that we now have readership in North America and Europe amongst the 90 countries where our five platforms reach. Our traffic which more than doubled in 2020, has at times gone up by another 50% in 2021. And advertising which had fallen to pieces in 2020 and 2021, has started its return since January 2022.

As the economy approaches real growth with unevenness and shortages a given, we are looking forward to the PrintPack India exhibition in Greater Noida. We are again appointed to produce the Show Daily on all five days of the show from 26 to 30 May 2022.
